NEW YORK, NY. (Top40 Charts/ TV Guide) - Platinum Grammy award winning artist
John Legend will give a special private performance at TV Guide's fifth annual after party celebrating the 59th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday,
September 16th at Hollywood hotspot Les Deux. In addition, for the second year in a row, Band From TV will make a rare appearance and perform live to continue the celebration at the TV Guide bash. The party will also feature spinning by DJ Samantha Ronson.
Known for his soulful sound and powerful lyrics, John Legend is the ultimate music renaissance man. He has worked with some of the biggest talents in the industry, not just as a performer, but also as a songwriter and producer. In 2006, his album, Once Again, quickly climbed the charts both in the U.S. and overseas, peaking as the No. 1 Top R&B/Hip-Hop album, as well the No. 3 album overall on the Billboard 200 list.
Also, back by popular demand, Band From TV is set to return this year to TV Guide's After Party. Members include founder Greg Grunberg (Heroes) on drums, James Denton (Desperate Housewives) on guitar, Bob Guiney (The Bachelor, The View) and Bonnie Somerville (Cashmere Mafia) on vocals, and Hugh Laurie (House), on keyboards. They will be joined by seasoned musicians Barry Sarna, Brad Savage, and Chris Kelley.
Band From TV came together as a result of Greg Grunberg's outreach to celebrity friends with similar interests and goals in an effort to raise money for the UCLA Epilepsy wing, where his oldest son Jake is being treated. Band From TV is an outlet for the musical passions of its celebrity members, while providing a wonderful opportunity to raise money for important charities.
Invitations to TV Guide's exclusive event have been distributed to Emmy nominees and key industry players. Additional announcements including party design elements and special guests are forthcoming.
