LOS ANGELES (Alternative Music Magazine) - Beck's next album, Sea Change, will once again showcase the eclectic artist's acoustic side, much like his 1998 release Mutations.

In fact, Sea Change, which is due September 24 from Geffen Records, takes its cues from parts of Mutations, according to a label spokesperson. "If you are a fan of the first two cuts from [Mutations], 'Cold Brains' and 'Nobody's Fault But My Own,' you will not be disappointed by the sounds contained on this...CD," the spokesperson says. "Beck has described Sea Change as an album that expands and builds on the sound of those two songs."
Both albums were produced by Nigel Godrich.

Also, much like Mutations, Sea Change is the follow-up to an elaborate, modern-rock release by the Los Angeles singer-songwriter--Sea Change comes after the funk-laden 1999 album, Midnite Vultures, while Mutations arrived in 1998 on the heels of Odelay, his standout 1996 work with the Dust Brothers.

Beck remains on the road on an acoustic tour. He performs Friday (August 9) in Evanston, Illinois.
