LOS ANGELES (Power Up Awards) - Rocker Melissa Etheridge and Showtime producer Jerry Offsay will receive Power Up's Premiere Award on Nov. 3 at the 2nd Annual Power Premiere in Beverly Hills. The award recognizes people who support the gay community and offer a positive example in encouraging creative people to pursue their dreams. Power Up stands for the Professional Organization of Women in Entertainment Reaching UP. The nonprofit organization helps promote the visibility and integration of gay women in entertainment. "It is with honor and privilege that I accept the Power Premiere Award from Power Up," says Etheridge in a statement released Thursday (Aug. 8). It's always a pleasure to be acknowledged within our community, and I will continue to live my life positive and open, in the hopes of encouraging others to do so as well."
