New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Hacktone Records) - Former Jayhawks frontman Mark Olson is the subject of a beautiful and moving documentary which chronicles, in starkly honest terms, the making of his new record, the reasons why he left The Jayhawks at the height of their fame, and the break up of his marriage to singer/songwriter, Victoria Williams. Named after the release of his new album 'The Salvation Blues' (HackTone Records), this 30-minute picture, directed by filmmaker Ray Foley, was shot entirely in color-saturated Super 8 and will be screened for the first time in its entirety on Aug 30 at NYC's Bowery Ballroom prior to Olson's headlining performance. Footage from the documentary was used for Olson's first video from the album for his song 'National Express'. This invitation only screening starts at 7pm, followed by HackTone artist The Last Town Chorus at 8:30 PM; Mark takes the stage at 9:30 PM. Both Olson and Foley will be present at the screening to speak about the film. Produced by HackTone Records and Foley Films, 'The Salvation Blues' was culled from over 90 hours of footage shot over a two week period in NYC in April 2007.
