LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts/ udden Death Records) - Renowned punk outfit, D.O.A is back with a band new DVD entitled Smash The State that will be released September 1, 2007 on Sudden Death Records. The dvd will also include short guest appearances by the likes of Keith Morris, Dirk Dirksen, JB Shayne, and Zippy Pinhead. Since 1978 Joe Shithead Keithley and the rest of D.O.A has been spreading there outspoken music around the country, voicing there strong political opinions where ever they could. This didn't always come easy for the Vancouver based anarchists, Our very first show outside of Vancouver was in San Francisco. I took a train, Biscuits and Rampage took a bus and Brad Kent hitch hiked, says Keithley. When we arrived we had to scramble around to find enough gear to play. But it was great, so from that point on we would hop in any kind of old wrecked vehicle we could find, and head down to the Bay area and help cause a punk rock riot. Besides many memorable live performances in San Francisco, Smash The State also includes an outdoor D.O.A set in Vancouver's Stanley Park. This once in a lifetime performance is documented along with the before and aftermath of the anarchists celebration. Keithley explains, it was an anarchist gathering in 1978 and was billed as "Anti-Canada Day". We didn't have a permit, so the cops tried to stop D.O.A., The Subhumans and Private School from playing that day there's even footage of (Randy) Rampage giving a cop a kiss. Hey, cool shit." Smash The State is a raw collection of the first three years of D.O.A's lengthy career. Not only does is document the original moments of the band but it also shines light on the state of punk in the late seventies and early eighties. It's a must see piece of the punk rock revolution.
