LOS ANGELES (3 Doors Down Official Website) - Away From The Sun, 3 Doors Down's follow-up to its multi-platinum Universal Records debut, The Better Life, is due November 12. The band is in the studio laying down backing vocals and other last-minute touches.

Away From The Sun is being produced by Rick Parashar and mixed by Randy Staub. The group is moving in a harder rock direction, according to a spokesperson. The band is set to work on its first video from the collection, although the exact track has yet to be determined.

3 Doors Down's The Better Life has been certified five-times platinum for sales of 5 million copies. Frontman Brad Arnold says he has done his best to ignore the pressures of duplicating that feat while writing new songs.
"When we're writing, I just try not to dissect it, you know? I mean, let it come out and if it's stupid, play it for one of your buddies and let him tell you it's stupid or something, you know what I mean? You can't get down on yourself and criticize the songs and I believe fully in the songs, and it all comes down to whether or not fans like it, you know? Because bands are nothing without fans," he says.
