"Last year was our first participation as sponsors in this major national event," says Robby Carson, co-owner broker of Estes Park Realty. "I know of no other event that has made such a significant impact on gospel music in the world in the past 30 years."
Over the years, many artists were first heard at Music in the Rockies including Chris Tomlin, Stacie Orrico, Rachael Lampa, Mark Lowry, Point of Grace, Babbie Mason, Matthew West, David Phelps, BarlowGirl and Nichole Nordeman. This year's opening night will be led by Michael W. Smith, also one of the artists that first surfaced at Music in the Rockies.
"Estes Park has been known for many years as a sleepy mountain town but has recently come to light as a thriving arts, entertainment and vacation destination," says Lee Miller of MSGPR, a public relations company with offices in Estes Park and Texas. "Music in the Rockies is the premier launching point for up and coming Christian music artists and bands and we're pleased that Estes Park can be a part of making history in the gospel music industry."
Since 1974, GMA Music in the Rockies (formerly Seminar in the Rockies) has been the Christian and Gospel music industry's official training camp and competition for artists, songwriters and worship leaders. Thousands have traveled from all over the world to experience this adventure and are drawn by its unparalleled training, professional and personal feedback, one-of-a-kind concert series, and sense of community, all nestled in the beautiful mountains of Estes Park.
"We're privileged to be a part of sponsoring such an incredible event," says Steve Caldwell of StoneGate Homes. "Music in the Rockies makes a huge impact on our community and the world of Christian music."
