July 13 at 7pm. Vega will be celebrating the upcoming release of her new album BEAUTY & CRIME, out July 17 on Blue Note, which Dave Bauder of Associated Press hailed as, ?the deepest, most satisfying album in a career that's stretched 20 years.? (7/5/07) Users are invited to stop by to interact with Vega who will be hanging and chatting on the virtual Ludlow Street, one of the many NYC locales that inspired the songs on Vega's new CD. Every visitor will receive a free player for BEAUTY & CRIME which can be used to outfit their avatars or to host a listening party of their own. Users can also create their own musical street graffiti, explore the sounds of the city, and watch concert footage recorded live at the Hiro Ballroom. In August 2006, Vega was the first major recording artist to ever perform in Avatar in the online virtual world, and write a spirited piece about SECOND LIFE's creator Phillip Rosedale in TIME MAGAZINE's Time 100 this past May.
