New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ D-Zone Entertainment) - Stratospheerius will be playing Club Midway, 25 Avenue B at 2nd Street, in New York City on July 12 at 9 PM. The venue phone number is 212-253-2595 and website is www.clubmidway.com. Admission is $10. Club Midway is near subways F, V, J, M and Z.

The show is a record release party for HEADSPACE, the band's album, which is due out July 10 on D-Zone Entertainment. HEADSPACE's songs combine elements of rock, jazz, funk, Latin and Middle Eastern music. "Today is Tomorrow," "New Material" and "Old Ghosts" could be hits on all kinds of radio formats. There is a straight-ahead cover of Police's "Driven to Tears," plus a range of instrumentals: a bluegrass punk "Gutterpunk Blues," psychedelic roller coaster ride of "Mental Floss," and the bigger and louder sequel-the Heavy Metal Hora called, "Heavier Shtettle II."? This CD is filled with memorable hooks alongside the defiant instrumental jams that the group has built its reputation on. Influences include Mahavishnu, Frank Zappa, Led Zeppelin, Dave Matthews, Radiohead, Jeff Beck, and Bela Fleck.

Stratospheerius features Joe Deninzon on vocals and electric violin, Lucianna Padmore on drums, bassist Bob Bowen, guitarist Mack Price and percussionist Benny Koonyevsky. Stratospheerius has showcased its "psychojazz trip funk" at colleges, festivals, and clubs throughout the US. Often referred to as the "Jimi Hendrix of the violin," Joe has worked with artists ranging from Ritchie Blackmore from Deep Purple, Sheryl Crow, Everclear, and Trans-Siberian Orchestra. The New York-based group has shared stages with artists like Mike Stern, Tim Reynolds, The Slip, and John Scofield.

Stratospheerius was a winner in the John Lennon Songwriting Competition, won the People's Choice Awards in the Cornucopia Festival, and was named "Best Jam Band" in Musician's Atlas Independent Music Awards. Stratospheerius has been featured in Relix, Downbeat, Jazziz, and other publications. Stratospheerius has received heavy airplay and critical acclaim all over the US, Canada, Australia, South America, Japan, and Europe.

HEADSPACE is receiving warm approval before its release: Digitalunderground states "Stratospheerius is creating a genre of its own" and "the vocal performance of Joe Deninzon is on par with his stringed abilities." Sonicuriosity's Matt Howarth writes "Good time music that will get you dancing," and Progsheet's John Wilcox says he needed HEADSPACE, "(It) is a cranker of an album?a massive energy generator of ideas."

The album is receiving radio airplay throughout the New York/ Connecticut and Pennsylvania region, including Bumpskey Radio, WVOF- Southbury-CT, WECS-New London-CT, WHUS-Storrs Mansfield-CT, WBZC- Pemberton-NJ, WNTI-Hacketstown-NJ, and WKPS-University Park-PA.
