Patchogue, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Act1 Entertainment) - On Saturday June 30, 10 Long Island bands will participate in a fundraiser for Save-A-Pet. The music for the evening includes Act1Entertainment.Net talent such as BigDaddy & The Bulldogs, Merc's Inner City Soul Band, Jerry Wilder Project, LI's Rockin' Rachel, Sugar Blues, Barrelhouse, Tom Hood, Crosscut, Motu and FUB. The event will be held in conjunction with the 200th edition of BigDaddy's Sizzlin' Saturday Night Jam. The open mic and jam session attracts many different local talents each weekend, but on June 30 all of the performers will be working to help Save-A-Pet's mission "to protect and improve the lives of abused, abandoned and homeless cats and dogs ... provide spay and neuter services and ... educate the public, especially children, on the importance of pet sterilization, responsible pet ownership and the humane treatment of animals." The non-profit group, founded in 1994 and based in Port Jefferson, relies on private donations to help Long Island animals in need. Donations will be accepted, and there will be a raffle that includes CDs from some of the featured bands. A free buffet is part of the event. This night is also a "Tribute To Rocky" - the Yorkie/Maltese that Karl "Big Daddy" Reamer lost to a brain tumor in March 2007, leading to Reamer's desire to organize this event, and his greater involvement with Save-A-Pet. The music starts at 8:00 p.m. at Tailgator's Sports Bar, 232 East Main Street, Patchogue. For more information, or to donate items to the raffle contact Karl "Big Daddy" Reamer at 631-758-3505 or visit www.BigDaddyOnline.com . Save-A-Pet can be found at www.SaveAPetLI.net.
