CHICAGO, Ill. (R. Kelly Fans Website) - A Kansas City man is suing R. Kelly over a videotape and no one is saying what's on it. According to the suit, Kelly hired a private detective who contracted Charles Freeman to recover a stolen performance tape last August. The contract promised Freeman 100-thousand dollars U-S and up to 40-thousand more when he handed over the tape. Freeman was to recover the tape in two days, pass a lie-detector test to prove he knows of no other copies, and promise not to reveal the tapes contents. Freeman found the tape, but says he was paid only 65-thousand dollars. Hes now looking for the rest of the money. His lawyer says Freeman protected himself by keeping a copy of the video, because he was only paid about half.
Freeman's suit does not involve the tape that allegedly shows Kelly having sex with an underage girl.
