LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts/ Breakout Entertainment) - Although some jazz listeners still consider some of the later Coltrane albums to not fully represent his improvisational genius, some of these later recordings, such as Ascension, Meditations , and Interstellar Space, are certainly considered jazz masterpieces, just as the earlier Coltrane virtuosic playing is on Giant Steps, Coltrane Live, Ballads, My Favorite Things, etc.

Count Michael Pedicin among the many jazz musicians who revere Coltrane, and consider his music to be a major influence and driving force in their musical quest. Pedicin, who has been compared to Trane and Brecker in so many reviews, has established his own voice, but not without always paying homage to the supreme force that was Coltrane.

What Coltrane represented to the post-bop saxophonists, Pedicin seems to be as the force emulated by so many of the saxophonists that have been heard since the 80's... in all of the jazz idioms. The Jazz Hut at Gardner's Basin in Atlantic City New Jersey is the brainchild of Michael Pedicin and it is through his efforts and persistence that jazz players and enthusiasts from the NY-Phila. area have a place to play and sell their wares. Pedicins's influence on jazz, both mainstream and avant-garde, began in the 1980's and continues to grow even today with the anticpation of his new CD release and his live gigs in NY, Phila. and Los Angeles.

Pedicin loves the comparison to the great John Coltrane and dedicates his own music to the memory of the Jazz legend. Coltrane was posthumously awarded the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1992 and his music lives on thanks to musicians like Michael Pedicin.
