Marc Anthony Speaks Out On His Marital Woes

LOS ANGELES (M. Anthony Fans Website) - Marc Anthony is taking his marital woes to the public in a candid interview on Access Hollywood Tuesday (July 16) night.

In it, the Latin pop star ?- who confirmed his separation from his wife of two years, Dayanara Torres, a few weeks ago, says, "I know there has been so much speculation ? I do want to say that we're really good friends, and I genuinely love her and she genuinely loves me."

When asked if his hectic work schedule interfered with their relationship, he responds, "Yeah I think so. Sometimes what happens is ? you think you're fine ? you really do think you're fine. But then reality ? there comes a time when time itself and separation ? you have to have something to draw on. That's when we realized that we had a lot to work on."

Anthony (whose real name is Marc Antonio Muniz) and Torres, a former Miss Universe, got married in May 2000 in Las Vegas and had a son, Christian Anthony Muniz, in February 2001.

The artist is currently on tour in support of his latest album, Mended, which debuted at No. 3 on US Albums chart in late May.
