MILPITAS, CA. (Top40 Charts/ SanDisk Corporation) - SanDisk Corporation, the second largest seller of MP3 players in the United States, today released the following statement by Daniel Schreiber, senior vice president and general manager of the audio and video business unit at SanDisk:

'We at SanDisk are excited by Amazon.com's announcement today of a DRM-free music download store, supported by EMI Music, that will offer tracks in the MP3 format. This is the first time a major record label and a major retailer have come together to offer consumers the freedom to buy music compatible with all MP3 players. As consistent advocates of consumer choice, we believe this is an important step forward.'

Schreiber and other SanDisk executives are available today to comment further.

SanDisk offers a wide array of MP3 players in its Sansa line, including the Sansa Connect with WiFi, the affordable Sansa Express, the Sansa Shaker for young people, and the mainstream Sansa c200, m200 and e200 series.

SanDisk is the original inventor of flash storage cards and is the world's largest supplier of flash data storage card products, using its patented, high-density flash memory and controller technology. SanDisk is headquartered in Milpitas, CA and has operations worldwide, with more than half its sales outside the U.S.

SanDisk's product and executive images can be downloaded from https://www.sandisk.com/corporate/media.asp. The Sansa Shaker player is intended for children 8 years old and up.
