SANTA MONICA, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Recording Academy) - Award-winning artist Roy Feinson was selected to create the official artwork for the 50th Annual GRAMMY Awards, it was announced today by The Recording Academy. His intricate work was unveiled at today's press event to kick off the organization's 50th Celebration festivities. A hand crafted mosaic that uses hundreds of images — all of which are taken from various GRAMMY telecasts — will be used as the official artwork for the world's premier music event, as well as grace the cover of the 50th Annual GRAMMY Awards program book, and promotional poster. The 50th Annual GRAMMY Awards will be held on Feb. 10, 2008, at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles and will be broadcast live on the CBS Television Network at 8 p.m. (ET/PT).

"We are proud to have Roy Feinson, a true artistic innovator, create this brilliant mosaic that reflects our journey and brings the past, present and future alive in an amazing, detailed image," said Neil Portnow, President of The Recording Academy. "In commemoration of this milestone anniversary, Feinson's art emulates our rich history and unforgettable GRAMMY moments, while also spotlighting the ongoing excitement of the GRAMMY Awards. This 50th Celebration is only the beginning for The Recording Academy."

A true renaissance man, Feinson is an artist, writer, graphic software engineer, and founder of Double Take Images, and has pioneered the genre known as impressionist mosaics. He brings a fresh approach to the 2,000 year old mosaic art form, fusing technology and art to create a work that provokes new ways of thinking. He recently was commissioned by Disneyland to create 38 large scale mosaics for the park's 50th anniversary. His artwork has been published globally and he has been a guest on CNN and numerous international radio shows.
