RALEIGH, NC. (Top40 Charts/ Lulu.com) - Lulu.com, the premier online marketplace that provides a platform to create, buy, sell and control digital content on demand announces a partnership with The Stax Museum of American Soul Music/Soulsville, USA in Memphis. As part of the partnership, Stax will be utilizing Lulu's customizable print on demand services to create collateral materials such as the Stax Museum printed catalog, premium calendars and recordings of performances. Lulu.com will also produce fundraising collateral materials for the adjacent Stax Music Academy, which mentors primarily at-risk youth and provides them with music education programs and unique performance opportunities they would otherwise not likely have. In 2006 the Stax Music Academy's Summer Tour included a performance in Italy. Highlights from the tour can be seen in a documentary to air in Memphis this August. Current artist-in-residence is international recording artist Kirk Whalum. "Stax represents one of the great collections of American Musical history," said Bob Young, CEO of Lulu.com. "Stax and their customers can now create customizable materials, giving Lulu's users a whole lotta soul." "We are extremely pleased and excited that Lulu has shown this interest in our organization, particularly the Stax Music Academy," said Stax Museum of American Soul Music CEO Marc Willis. "This partnership will help bring more exposure to us worldwide and will greatly benefit our efforts in the near future and the long run."
