Chicago (CSO Resound) - IODA announced today a partnership with the
Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and its new in-house recording label CSO Resound, to release digital downloads of the Orchestra's critically acclaimed performances, recorded live at its home, Symphony Center. IODA, the global leader in digital distribution, marketing, and technology solutions for the independent music industry, is also the leading digital distributor of classical repertoire, distributing a number of Grammy winning titles, including San Francisco Symphony's 'Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 7' (2007 winner for Best Classical Album and Best Orchestra Performance) and London Symphony Orchestra's 'VERDI Falstaff' (2006 winner for Best Opera).

CSO Resound's debut offering is available now exclusively on iTunes, and it will be released through additional digital retailers in July. The compact disc will be released in stores throughout the country on May 8, and in Europe and Asia in June. The recording features the CSO's critically acclaimed October 2006 performances of Mahler's Symphony No. 3 under the direction of CSO Principal Conductor Bernard Haitink, with mezzo-soprano Michelle DeYoung, members of the Chicago Symphony Chorus, and the Chicago Children's Choir.
CSO Resound digital downloads will be made available to consumers via IODA's network of more than 350 digital retailers, mobile outlets and subscription services worldwide-including the iTunes Store, Napster, RealNetworks' Rhapsody, Yahoo! Music, Zune, Urge, eMusic, Virgin, and HMV.
The Chicago Symphony Orchestra joins a rich roster of symphonies and classical record labels releasing their music digitally via IODA, including, the London Symphony Orchestra, the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Ondine, Haenssler Classics, Harmonia Mundi, Coro, Hyperion Records, and CBC Records.
