< Los Angeles, CA. New York, NY. (Media On Demand) - A music and sound resource with the delivery capabilities of a major motion picture studio, and insight into the business needs of entertainment and advertising-that is the vision that drew the heads of Media On Demand (MOD) and Bang Music together in a merger that will serve the film, television and online industries worldwide, with original music, licensed music, sound design, ADR, Foley, sound editorial-on demand. The new entity: BANG/MOD Productions.

The principals of BANG/MOD - MOD founder Aaron Green, BANG founder/partner Lyle Greenfield, BANG composer/partner Brian Jones - consider their combined resources a uniquely relevant solution for the production-heavy entertainment and commercial worlds, a viewpoint shared by their clients.

Observes Bryan Turner, founder of Priority Records and Melee Entertainment, "We're producing content in such a multilateral world now. The depth of BANG/MOD's creative pool, the reach of their facilities-it's a huge asset to those of us finishing films and watching the clock at the same time."

Adds BANG/MOD's Greenfield, "A film, television show, commercial, internet or game project may be in pre-production for months, even a year, before the first thought is given to music or sound-yet the soundtrack is critical to making the final product compelling. Achieving excellence in a very short period of time has never been more important."

The two companies began experiencing the value of their shared resources three years ago, while collaborating on music soundtracks for several TV series (most notably, the hit Scrubs). Talent diversity combined with round-the-clock recording capability on both coasts, and in Europe, made for "an incredibly efficient, high-quality production system in a very demanding industry," according to executive producer Green. The establishment of BANG/MOD formalized the arrangement and the combined proficiency has already reaped benefits. Green elaborates, "A producer stuck in an all-night edit makes an urgent call for music alternatives-an hour later we've been able to temp the scene from our studios in Los Angeles and New York simultaneously. It's fantastic-and it happened."

The new enterprise, which has recently been working on original music and audio post for several new TV series, including The Riches on FX, Shear Genius on Bravo, E! Channel's Sunset Tan and FOX's Drive, will operate jointly out of their studio facilities on both coasts, as well as in Europe. In California, BANG/MOD's studios are located in Santa Clarita, just outside Los Angeles, with an additional facility on the SONY Pictures lot in Culver City (where audio design has just been completed for Spider-Man 3, slated for release May 4). In New York, offices and studios are located in downtown Manhattan's Flatiron District. In Europe, office and studio facilities in Stavanger, Norway are overseen by senior producer Haavard Hana and composer Espen Noreger (from there, projects and sessions across the Atlantic can be booked from London to Prague, Paris to Amsterdam).

New York City-based BANG Music was founded in 1990 by former agency writer/creative director Greenfield, who took the company to the top of the commercial music world with a roster of independent composers and musicians (recent projects have included spots and promos for Victoria's Secret, Verizon, Mini Cooper, Mountain Dew, Panasonic, MTV and ESPN). But it was BANG composer and partner Jones who provided the introduction to MOD through the music-for-series work.

Media On Demand has specialized in original music, supervision, editorial and sound design in the entertainment industry for over ten years. (Its team has over 80 feature film and television credits including Oceans 13, Collateral, Miracle, XXX, Holes, Elf, Grudge, Drive, The Riches and the FOX smash hit 24, as well as abundant spot work.)
