Hoboken, NJ. (Top40 Charts/ Backlight Records) - This Saturday, April 7th, at 9 p.m., Backlight Records is hosting a benefit concert for NJ Habitat for Humanity at Maxwell's in Hoboken (1039 Washington Street, Hoboken, NJ). Allie Moss, Ian McGlynn, Ingrid Michaelson and Holler, Wild Rose! will be returning to Maxwell's stage to help raise money and awareness for Habitat for Humanity.

Steven Velardo, CEO of Backlight said, "Habitat for Humanity is doing work that matters - work that has an immediate and lasting impact on the lives of people - work that means something. To us, that is very important, and we want to both thank them and help them with their mission."

All proceeds from the evening will be going directly to support New Jersey Habitat for Humanity house-building projects in Newark and Jersey City.

John Mosloskie of Holler, Wild Rose! said of the event, "There are people in our local communities who are daily fighting tooth and nail to better their lives - socioeconomic pressures being such that it seems opposition is perpetually assailing them from every side. An organization like Habitat enters their picture, granting the marginalized an opportunity to live in decency and raise their families in a living atmosphere imbued with hope."

Habitat for Humanity International seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat invites people of all backgrounds, races and religions to build houses together in partnership with families in need.

The organization has built more than 225,000 houses around the world, providing more than 1 million people in more than 3,000 communities with safe, decent, affordable shelter. Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, Habitat builds and rehabilitates simple, decent houses with the help of the homeowner (partner) families. Habitat houses are sold to partner families at no profit and financed with affordable loans. The homeowners' monthly mortgage payments are used to build still more Habitat houses.
