MIAMI, Fl. (Los40 Music Website) - Spanish sensation Melody was honored early morning on Monday when she received a "Disco de Oro" for the outstanding sales of her production "De Pata Negra."

Melody was surprised by the cast of Univision's Despierta America during her appearance in the show, as they presented her with the award, on behalf of Sony Discos. She performed two of her hits, "El Baile Del Gorila", and her second promotional single, "De Pata Negra." Melody's debut album has taken the world by storm, making her an overnight success; "De Pata Negra" has surpassed the 100, 000 units sold in the US and Puerto Rico alone.

Following her Miami visit, Melody traveled to McAllen, Texas where over 500 fans awaited to meet her at an in-store promotion at Walmart. After her performance, Melody signed autographs and posed for photos with her fans. The event was a hit, as kids and adults alike joined Melody for a fun-filled afternoon. She continued her promotional tour the next day in Dallas where she participated in another smashing Walmart in-store event.
"The little girl that the world is going ape for," as she was referred to by Sony Discos's Chairman, Oscar Llord, continues her path of success; today, tomorrow and Sunday night she will appear in concert in Venezuela.
