Gillett Entertainment Group, in collaboration with Greenland, Higher Ground and MEG, are thrilled to announce the second edition of OSHEAGA (pronounced O-SHE-A-GA), to be held on September 8 and 9, 2007 at the scenic Parc Jean-Drapeau.
Last year, over 25,000 festival goers were blown away by memorable performances by the likes of The Flaming Lips and Ben Harper, and by the overall high quality and diversity of the homegrown and international talents. As it stands, the second edition already promises to give the first installment a run for its money - and there are still many more artists to be announced!
The legendary Smashing Pumpkins will make their much anticipated return to Montreal after a 7 year hiatus; hometown favourites Stars, Xavier Cafeine and Sam Roberts Band will showcase the best Montreal's vibrant music scene has to offer; British rockers Placebo will bring a dose of their anthemic European styling to the fest; rebellious soul songstress Amy Winehouse promises a memorable performance; Swedish sensation Peter, Bjorn & John will shake it up with their unique blend of indie pop; while fresh-faced Scottish export Paolo Nutini is sure to kick up his "New Shoes" and a whole lot of pop for his return to Montreal! Also on board are: Au Revoir Simone (USA), Adam Kesher (FR) and Peter Von Poehl (FRA), as part of the deliciously eclectic MEG stage line up.
Just like last year, over 50 incredible bands will take over Osheaga 2007's 5 stages set upon the breath-taking backdrop of Montreal's Parc Jean-Drapeau, Ile Sainte-Helene (accessible by Metro Jean-Drapeau) - located just 10 minutes from downtown Montreal. For the second year, the Art Tent will offer local and international artists a special platform allowing for one of a kind, intimate artistic and musical performances.
On September 8 and 9, don't miss the OSHEAGA Music and Arts Festival, for a 2 day jam packed whirlwind musical experience! For more detailed info, please visit https://www.osheaga.com
