Panda Eye
Passion proudly presents world class tenor,
Mario Zhang, in a tribute to all mothers in Mother's Day Italian Classics Concert: 1 Tenor, 10 High Cs, 100 Angels, Countless Love. The traditionally adult chorus accompaniment will be replaced by the glorious voices of 100 children of the Canadian Children's Opera Chorus.
"We are delighted that Mario has decided to take part in Mother's Day Italian Classics Concert in Toronto." Shek Ko, founder of Panda Eye Passion, states. "He is one of the hottest tenors in the world right now, and he's Canadian. Mario and the children will bring the best of all mother's day gifts to Toronto!"
Originally trained as a Classical Chinese Opera singer, Mario Zhang began his career in Western opera after listening to Domingo performing O Sole Mio. Fueled by his mother's passion for Classical music, he has become one of the world's most recognized bel-canto tenors, having performed as the lead tenor role in over 30 operas and on such renowned opera stages as Sempreoper Dresden, Royal Opera Copenhagen, Bayerische Staatsoper Munich, and Canadian Opera Company.
Mario Zhang and the Canadian Children's Opera Chorus will also be joined by Orchestra Toronto, the Italian Ensemble of Ardel Entertainment, Brampton Lyric Opera's guest singers, Jennifer Fina and Natalie Rogerson, and renowned Canadian conductors Errol Gay and Ann Cooper Gay. The Mother's Day gift concert in Toronto will feature a mainly Italian program, with the exception of the opening of the first half, a traditional Oriental dance rearranged for a Western orchestra, and for the second half, traditional Hungarian folk music, Csárdás.
