NEW YORK, NY (Top40 Charts/ Sony) - Classics on the Mountain Music Festival hosted by Mohonk Mountain House announces its 3rd year of concerts at the historic Victorian castle resort.

Featuring 5 nights of performances, the audience will be treated to full orchestra concerts by the Moscow Soloists Orchestra with special appearance by artist in residence, YURI BASHMET, called by international music critics as one of the greatest violists of our times. Bashmet will perform and conduct the Moscow Soloists Orchestra on opening night, Tuesday, June 12, 2007.

This year's theme of the Festival is the "Seasons." "Opening with Vivaldi's Spring Concerto in E Major and interchanging with Piazzolla's Summer and Autumn in Buenos Aires, TUESDAY, JUNE 12, Opening Concert, will prove to be both powerful and magical," said Igor Raykhelson, Artistic Director (https://www.igorraykhelson.com).

Each performance will consist of 2 sets of music with a brief intermission followed by a reception and a chance to "Meet the Artists."

The Festival will present the artistry of rising star Neo-Romantic composer/pianist Igor Raykhelson, clarinetist Julian Milkis (the only pupil of the late great Benny Goodman), Grammy-nominated violinist Mark Peskanov, pianist Konstantin Lifshitz and saxophonist Igor Butman and his Jazz Trio.

Tuesday through Wednesday will offer traditional chamber music concerts.

Friday, June 15 will feature a special Jazz night with Russia's Jazz Ambassador, saxophonist Igor Butman, who is the "favorite living tenor sax player" of former President Bill Clinton, as mentioned in his biography. A special guest star will be announced in May.

A full concert grand piano is generously donated by Steinway & Sons of NYC.

"The acoustics are perfect and the setting is magical. The audience can sit under cover in the Pavilion as they listen to the highest caliber of musicianship with magnificent views of Mohonk's Victorian Castle Resort reflecting off the water," says Sherri Brittain, Festival Director. "The mountains and white cliffs off the Lake provide an amazing backdrop," Brittain said.

The final concert, Saturday, June 16, will be the American premiere of Raykhelson's Concerto for Clarinet, String, Jazz Trio in E Flat.
