(Top40 Charts/ Sparrow Records) - Avalon received the 25th Dove Award nomination of its stellar career this week from the Gospel Music Association, another landmark achievement for the vocal group that released its debut album ten years ago. The quartet is currently nominated in the Inspirational Recorded Song category for 'Orphans of God' from its acclaimed 2006 album, STAND. Avalon has won this particular award twice before for the songs 'Adonai' and 'Everything to Me.' As the award nominations continue for STAND, Avalon is also receiving fresh attention for its very latest project, FAITH: A HYMNS COLLECTION. ChristianMusicToday.com calls the collection of newly recorded classic church songs 'Avalon at its best' while Billboard magazine says 'These voices and these songs are a match made in heaven.' The group recently performed its version of 'In Christ Alone' from FAITH on The 700 Club before a viewing audience of more than one million people. Another song from the disc, 'Great Is Thy Faithfulness,' is additionally featured on MUSIC INSPIRED BY THE MOTION PICTURE AMAZING GRACE.
