SUGAR LAND, TX. (Top40 Charts/ GoGirls Elite) - While that program generates hype and hoopla and outtakes of goofy singers, seriously rockin' chicks are benefiting from their membership in GoGirls Elite, the largest and oldest online community of indie women musicians, and scoring serious national exposure.
"It's exhilarating," said GoGirls founder and CRC (Chief Rockin' Chick) Madalyn Sklar. "Seeing a community of women musicians support each other is reward enough, but when our members hit national television it's hard to describe how happy that makes me!"
On February 12th, Brenham, Texas' 3 Kisses was featured on ABC's Wife Swap. After getting an inquiry from the show's producers, Sklar posted an opportunity to GoGirls Elite members. 3 Kisses got the gig.
3 Kisses has played numerous GoGirls shows in Houston and Austin as well as the GoGirls stage at the Millennium Music Conference in Harrisburg, PA.
The same day, GoGirl Yvonne Doll of The Locals appeared on NBC's Today for a collection of photos of sleeping commuters she captured with her camera phone. The talented Doll is a veteran of several GoGirls live shows, created cover art for GoGirlsMusicFest CD covers, designed the GoGirls Elite logo, and is the creator of the "Invasion of the GoGirls" art.
The appearances are the latest in a series of major wins for GoGirls Elite members.
Last summer, GoGirls Elite member Patrice Pike appeared on Rockstar Supernova on CBS. Pike has played several GoGirls shows in both Austin and Houston.
Another GoGirls Elite member, Cheyenne Kimball, won America's Most Talented Kid at age 12, signed a multi-million dollar record deal with Sony, released a CD, and had a reality TV show on MTV titled Cheyenne. She's played GoGirls shows in Dallas, Houston and Austin.
"There's opportunity out there," said Sklar. "All you need to do is get in with the GoGirls Elite family and keep on rockin'."
