Brooklyn, New York (Top40 Charts/ Kween Ka$h Official Website) - Brooklyn, New York's Kween Ka$h, has truly become a force to be reckoned with on the underground circuit. Voted Best Female Rapper at the 2006 4th Annual Underground Music Awards, this lyrical powerhouse is definitely repping her beloved borough of Brooklyn. Ka$h delivers the smash debut single and accompanying video, "New York Bounce." her testament and ode to the birthplace of Hiphop. Ka$h lyrically rides a Dirty South track (produced by Soleternity) and delivers it with a flair that only "Your Royal Flyness" can deliver. Peep the hook for example:

They say New York is played out/everybody gettin' Crunk in the Dirty South/ And that's all good/But I wish they would/ stop yappin/ They don't know what they're talking about/ Not that it bothers me/cause not really/but all this talk is gettin' silly/ How could Hiphop be dead in the city where it was founded initially, feel me?

"I respect the South and the fact that they are doing it right now," she explains, "Everybody deserves their time to shine, however a lot of New York artists are not getting the attention that they deserve in today's music industry. I am simply representing what I know and where I'm from." Born in Brooklyn New York, to Trinidadian parents, Kween Ka$h seamlessly and effortlessly fuses Hip Hop, Reggae, and Soca into her debut album, "Pure Fire", scheduled for release in Spring 2007. The album features production from various up-and-coming beat smiths such as Joe Morales, The GoldBarz, Soleternity, G-Man, Fire Shaun, Menyu and various other contributors. "My album is 100% me...Kween Ka$h." she says, "I barely listen to commercial radio so I'm not easily influenced by what everyone else is doing. You won't be able to pigeonhole me in any one category."

Kween Ka$h definitely pays homage to the recording artists that helped shape her decision to embark on a career as an emcee. Kween Ka$h lists Queen Latifah as her number one influence as female rapper. Says Ka$h, "I respect Biggie for his lyrics, legacy and delivery, and especially because he carried Brooklyn on his back." Kween Ka$h also credits No Doubt's Gwen Stefani, Lady Saw, Allison Hinds, Mary J. Blige, and Janet Jackson as huge influences amidst her quest to become a successful recording artist.

"I didn't set out to make music for the masses; however, hopefully my music will be adored by many and in huge demand."
