Toronto, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Skylar Entertainment) - The Pointed Sticks are back! They were a west coast phenomenon that burned white hot during their short career from 1978-1981. Coming out of Vancouver, Canada, the Sticks created a unique legacy with their pop/rock/punk sound.
As the first Canadian band signed to Stiff Records in the UK, the Pointed Sticks have returned after a 25-year separation. Despite being adored by fans throughout Canada, United States and Japan, the band broke up in 1981.
The Perfect Youth album, produced by legendary producer Bob Rock, was their last recording. When it was released in 1980 it sold well across North America and its bright, fresh and fun sound captures this great band at its peak. Now re-released for the first time in 25 years on Sudden Death Records, the vinyl version includes the original 12 tracks and the inner sleeve. The CD version has four rare bonus tracks.
The band has successfully reunited its fan base since it reemerged on Sudden Death Records, a label created by Joe Shithead Keithley of the legendary punk band DOA. Sudden Death Records followed up the re-release of Perfect Youth with Waiting For The Real Thing, this album is a great collection of the band's classic early singles, TV appearances and unreleased songs.
With CDs and LPs having great sales, the band recently reunited for a wild sold out tour of Japan this past summer, followed by two sold out shows in Vancouver, BC. The Pointed Sticks are back with the same energy they had 25 years ago, and are guaranteed to leave their mark on the punk scene once again.
