NEW YORK (NY Urban Radio) - Brooklyn-based rapper Mr. D. Original is planning to file suit against DMX and Swizz Beatz for allegedly stealing his song, "Ain't No Sunshine When She's Gone," a remake of Bill Withers's classic track, "Ain't No Sunshine." Original maintains that he submitted a version of the song to Swizz Beatz on a 10-song demo in 2000.

According to the rapper, six months after passing the tape along to Swizz Beatz, DMX released the Swizz Beatz-produced single, "No Sunshine," as the lead single from the Exit Wounds soundtrack.

Original shared how he came up with the song in a statement: "My mother died in the hospital due to hospital negligence...When my mom passed away, I wrote 'Ain't No Sunshine When She's Gone' as a memorial to her. The song was real deep with a universal appeal, and I knew that it was destined to be a hit record. Millions of people can relate to a family member dying in the hospital."
