NEW YORK, NY (Top40 Charts/ Morano Public Relations) - The Andalucia region of southern Spain returns to New York this month with its seventh annual Flamenco Festival featuring stellar artists and over 100 dancers, singers and musicians.

Highlights at New York City Center include the Ballet Flamenco de Sara Baras and Compañia Rafaela Carrasco (February 15-18). This year's festival expands to additional stages with a concert by revered guitarist Paco de Lucia at Carnegie Hall on February 10, as well as performances by flamenco celebrities at NYU Skirball Center February 22-24.

The art of flamenco is integral in daily life, fairs and festivals throughout Andalucia's eight provinces: Almeria, Cadiz, Cordoba, Granada, Huelva, Jaen, Malaga, and Sevilla. Consumers and travel professionals can enjoy learning more about flamenco and the destination by attending cultural activities coinciding with the Festival: seminars, "meet-the-artist" roundtables (on dance, song and guitar), interactive flamenco demonstrations, and even dance classes. "Routes through Flamenco Territories" (Cervantes Institute, February 16, 6:00 pm) presents a series of fascinating rural tours through Andalusian provinces where distinct styles of song and dance originated centuries ago and flourish today.

In conjunction with Flamenco Festival 2007, the Andalucia Tourist Board (www.andalucia.org) is carrying out a marketing campaign to travel professionals in New York, Long Island, New Jersey and Philadelphia. Andalucia tourism officials and hotel and resort representatives are conducting workshops, making presentations at leading travel agencies, hosting special events, and meeting with tour operators that are participating in joint marketing agreements (Central Holidays, Spanish Heritage Tours, Sun Holidays and Trafalgar Tours).

To increase consumer awareness, a campaign themed "An Andalusian Affair" showcases regional cuisine and wines at selected New York Restaurants, and magazine and online sweepstakes will award trips "to the birthplace of flamenco."

For the festival schedule, program related of activities, participating restaurant list, and an informative newsletter, see www.andaluciaflamenco.com.
