New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ AfroMantra Records) - AfroMantra's latest production, which includes 11 original compositions by Garcia and combines Caribbean and South American rhythms and melodies, has been released under the drummer's independent label AfroMantra Records and showcases the tremendous development of the band and Mr. Garcia's compositional abilities although Uplifting Spirit is infused with Cuban, Latin and South American rhythms, the ensemble's jazz influences are clearly evident, both in the music's structure, melodies and harmonies. Each track is an adventurous journey, marked by A different style and featuring different points of the group. The musicianship is at the virtuoso level, with the playing on every track extremely tight, and the improvisations inspiring. Uplifting Spirit was pre-released to a limited number of press and radio contacts in October 2006 and immediately received positive press reviews and significant airplay coinciding with its official release "Uplifting Spirit" will be supported by a press and radio promotion campaign in the US & Canada under the auspices of MFA – Jazz Publicity & Radio Promotion ([email protected])

AfroMantra burst onto the New York City scene in 1997, and has developed into a true musical force, performing at the top stages and major venues throughout NYC and abroad. With a contemporary outlook, the group incorporates a wide variety of jazz elements into the work, creating a palate that highlights the group's stirring inspirations and spiritual creativity. The group skillfully balances original compositions, drawing from the Cuban, American and South American traditions and influences.
