Disturbed Matures On 'Believe'

LOS ANGELES (Disturbed Official Website) - Disturbed is in the process of mixing its new album, Believe. The band has finished seven of the 13 tracks slated for the album. Songs on the album include the first single, "Prayer," as well as "Liberate" and "Remember." The new material seems to be more accessible and melodic than The Sickness.

Singer David Draiman told that Disturbed has matured. "Initially before we even started writing any of these, (guitarist) Danny (Donegan) and I had a little conversation where I kind of asked him, 'Give me some room to run.' We're still obviously very much metal. But I wanted to try some different things. He wanted to try different things. We wanted to grow and mature and show some development. People get tired of a band who put out records that are exactly the same."

Draiman discussed the mindset going into Believe. "It was very challenging to us on many different levels. Number one, how so we improve ourselves within ourselves? And then, how do we rise to the challenge of the whole shadow of the sophomore recording."

Believe is slated for release this summer, with "Prayer," tentatively set to hit airwaves in late July.
