LOS ANGELES (AlienAntFarm Official website) - Alien Ant Farm has cut short their European tour and canceled all United States shows through September after a bus accident in which the rock band's driver was killed. The crash happened May 22 near Navalmoral de la Mata, Spain, 120 miles west of Madrid , while the group was traveling from Luxembourg to Lisbon . Lead singer Dryden Mitchell suffered a broken vertebra and probably will need surgery. Guitarist Terry Corso broke his ankle, and bassist Tye Zamora chipped a bone in his foot. Drummer Mike Cosgrove received cuts and bruises. "I'm just so grateful that my injuries aren't worse," Mitchell said from a London hospital this week. "There will be a lot of rehabilitation and physical therapy, but I'm planning on working hard so the band can get back to writing songs, and then we can get in the studio and record the new album as soon as possible." The group from Riverside, Calif., is best known for their guitar-driven cover of Michael Jackson's 1988 hit "Smooth Criminal," which earned them a Grammy nomination this year.
