New York, NY (Allegro Corporation) - One of North America's leading independent entertainment distributors, Allegro Corporation, have scheduled to meet with Zoho Music at the annual MIDEM Conference in 2007. The Portland, Oregon based distribution group plan to announce that Zoho Music is one of four of Allegro's music labels to earn a combined seven Grammy Nominations in the 49th Annual Grammy Awards. Forrest Faubion, Allegro Corporation Project Manager explains, "MIDEM houses such a diverse music industry and is the perfect opportunity to present a Grammy nominations announcement. We are proud of the labels that help to keep our company ticking and with four Allegro labels receiving the 2006 Grammy stamp of approval we want to expose the releases to the many opportunities that are presented at MIDEM. It is our intention to continue to partner with a wide array of entertainment entities and MIDEM is a valuable resource that allows us to dip our toes into an endless range of business ventures.' In just under three years and with Allegro's support, Zoho Music has become a major player in many international jazz circles as well as a strong force in blues. Zoho hold two of five Grammy nominations in the Best Latin Jazz Album category for releases by artists Edsel Gomez (Cubist Music) and Dafnis Prieto (Absolute Quintet). Ike Turner (Risin' with the Blues) is nominated for Best Traditional Blues Album, clearly marking the label with a strong chance for victory in either genre. In addition to the Zoho nominations, additional Allegro distributed Grammy nominee's include: Summit Records' The Chicago Chamber Musicians (Chamber Works for Winds and Strings by Mozart) nominated for Best Chamber Music Performance ; Rubedo Canis Musica and Peter Rutenberg / Los Angeles Chamber Singers' Cappella (Sun of Justice) nominated for Best Small Ensemble Performance and two nominations for Best Native American Music Album going to the SOAR label group for artist Black Eagle (Voice of the Drum) and artist Jana (American Indian Story). The Allegro music group has earned many Grammy nominations in the past but with 2006 garnering seven Grammy nominations Allegro is quickly establishing a reputation for excellence amongst the industry. Faubion concludes, 'Allegro's decision to conduct business at the MIDEM conference annually for the last 20 years has proved to be a fruitful decision from the start.' The Grammy awards ceremony will take place Sunday, February 11, 2007, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, and will be broadcast on CBS.
