Blake Suite will be heard as the opening concert of the 52nd Annual Convention of the
National Opera Association on January 3, 2007 at 8:00pm at the Schomburg Center for Research in
Black Culture in New York City, N.Y.
It is an honor for my organization to have been invited as the opening concert for the distinguished National Opera Association 52nd Annual Convention. I can't express the sheer excitement I felt when I was invited by president Jo-Elyn Wakefield Wright. I immediately recognized her interest in expanding and adopting new ideas for the longevity of the organization. The New York Premiere of The Blake Suite will be performed as the opening concert for the 52nd Annual Convention of the National Opera Association. Lillian Roberts, Sidney Outlaw, Loraine Rodriguez, and William Hobbs as the Musical Director are featured in this evening's event.
We are expecting the following guests, which include former stars of the Metropolitan Opera Soprano and Tenor, Martina Arroyo and Curtis Rayam, Anne Choe; Artistic Services Manager of Opera America and Jonathan Field; Professor of Opera; Oberlin College.
The National Opera Association's three-day conference, which runs from January 4 to January 7, focuses on numerous subjects and areas of opera. Some of the noted guest speakers include, Matthew Epstein, Albert Bergeret, and Robin Guarino.

Since its inception, Avava Artists Presents creates programs that are rare in thought but most beautiful and meaningful in presentation. Avava Artists has served as a consultant for several programs such as NAACP ACT-SO, The Henry Street Settlement - Abrons Arts Center, and many others. Presentations and projects of the past for the organization has included the First Annual Salute to Black American Composers and their contributions to the arts presented at Queens College, apart of their Chamber Music Live Series.
