 Jacksonville, FL (Sony Music Studios) - TEAM SWORDZ announced today that Sony Music Studios has selected the underground hit "Weatherman" by rap artist SWORDZ to be featured as a spotlight artists showcasing SONY's new SIM service for digital artist. "Weatherman" was chosen by Sony executives for an exclusive mastering session at the Sony studios in New York after they viewed the popular video for the song which they called "very impressive." The mastering session for "Weatherman" will be conducted b y the same Grammy-winning, platinum-selling engineers that service some of the biggest names in music including Red Hot Chili Peppers, DMX, Jessica Simpson, Johnny Cash, and U2 just to name a few. The Sony news comes after a string of accomplishments for "Weatherman" including being nominated for the Southeast Entertainment Awards "Indie Song of the Year" and being featured on YouTubes "Underground" video contest gaining nearly 10,000 plays. Sony Music Studios Internet Mastering, or SIM, is a new online mastering service targeting independent artist on the Internet who are in need of affordable, efficient means to have their songs mastered by industry professionals. Users can upload up to four songs per "project," which allows for the fast turnaround time (approx. two business days) and affordable price structure (starting at $99 per song). The new Sony service intends to find a huge audience among the thousands of indie artist similar to SWORDZ on social networks like Myspace, GarageBand.com, and Pure Volume.
