(Ocean Way Recording Studios) - Juno Award-winning Canadian rockers Sum 41 recently settled in at Hollywood's Ocean Way Recording Studios to record tracks for their upcoming 2007 Island Records album, as yet untitled. The band used the spacious Studio B, legendary for its superlative live acoustics and often chosen for its powerful drum sound. The console in Studio B is an Ocean Way custom-built API.

On hand in Studio B were Cone McCaslin, bass; Andrew Buscher, guitar technician; Doug McKean, engineer; Deryck Whibley, guitar/vocals; Steve Jocs, drums; Mike Fasana, drum technician; Wesley Seidman, assistant engineer.

Sessions were produced by the band's outspoken lead singer, Dercyk Whibley, who married longtime girlfriend and fellow Canadian singer/songwriter Avril Lavigne this past July. While Sum 41 sessions were under way in Studio B, Lavigne was mixing tracks for her upcoming album in Studio D, which is equipped with a Neve 88R console. The new film 'Eragon' features Lavigne's 'Keep Holding On,' which is now on radio and available on iTunes.
