New York, NY. (Roadrunner Records) - Launch Radio Networks reports: Slipknot releases its new two-DVD set, Voliminal: Inside the Nine, today (Tuesday, December 5), with the main 80-minute film also screening tonight at selected theatres around the country. The film was directed by Slipknot percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan and shot while the band was recording and touring behind its third album, Vol. 3 (The Subliminal Verses). Crahan told Launch that he originally began the project because he thought the band was going to break up. "The idea behind this was that, number one, there was a lot of fighting with my band from the second record that was caught, and a lot of us hadn't even seen each other for two years," he said. "So I was very interested in how things would pan out because, to me, a lot of it looked like it was gonna be the end, and I felt like I'd have to explain it since I'm one of the guys that started it."

Crahan says that Voliminal presents an "unflinching" look at Slipknot's 10-year history. The documentary was shot on digital handheld cameras over a 28-month period.

The second disc of the two-DVD set features in-depth, exclusive interviews with all nine members of the band, bonus live and television performances, as well as all the videos from Vol. 3.
