(RCA Records) - Canadian hard-rock trio, Triumph, will be inducted into the Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame during Rogers Wireless Canadian Music Week. Music veterans Gil Moore (drums/vocals), Mike Levine (bass/keyboards) and Rik Emmett (guitar/vocals) will accept the honour Saturday, March 10th during the Canadian Radio Music Awards at Toronto's Fairmont Royal York Hotel. ??The journey for Triumph began in Toronto Ontario in the summer of 1975, with their self-titled Attic Records debut Triumph, released early the following year. After garnering a strong following in Canada and their first gold record, Triumph scored again with their double-platinum sophomore release, Rock 'N' Roll Machine in 1977.

In 1978, Warren Schatz of RCA Records' New York office signed Triumph to a worldwide deal after experiencing their explosive live show in front of a hometown crowd at Maple Leaf Gardens. This was the big break every band dreams of, and Triumph was now poised for stardom in the US. RCA wasted no time in releasing a compilation of their first two albums, re-issuing the Rock 'N' Roll Machine title. In 1979, they released Just a Game, which quickly went gold in the US and Canada with the hits "Hold On" and "Lay It On The Line". Constant touring resulted in Triumph's rapid ascension to the hierarchy of the arena rock circuit in the US and Canada, and a steady stream of gold and platinum albums followed. ??With the release of Progressions of Power (1980) and Allied Forces (1981) Triumph became a household name. With hit singles such as "Magic Power" and "Fight the Good Fight", radio and MTV embraced the band with heavy rotation.

Triumph's release of Never Surrender (1983) and the ensuing world tour, culminated with a landmark performance before nearly 500,000 fans at the legendary US Festival in California alongside contemporaries Van Halen, Judas Priest, Ozzy Osbourne, The Scorpions and Motley Crue. ??Thunder Seven (1984), Stages (1985), The Sport of Kings (1986) Surveillance (1987) and Classics (1989) followed. Together, these albums produced singles such as "Follow Your Heart," "Somebody's Out There" and "Just One Night". Triumph's spectacular live shows resulted in sold-out tours, as ticket sales kept the band constantly in the top 10 of Performance Magazines' US box office charts throughout the 80's. ??Today, Triumph continues its success with new ventures. Moore is the owner of Metalworks Studios, ranked as one of North America's top studio facilities, which has recently spawned education and live event divisions. Emmett has established a significant solo career and continues to perform across Canada and the US. Levine chose to pursue a number of internet based business interests related to the entertainment field.
