NEW YORK, NY (Major League Gaming) -- Major League Gaming (MLG) the world's first professional video game league, announced today that music legend Nile Rodgers has been named Executive Music Producer for the "Boost Mobile Major League Gaming Pro Circuit" TV show that debuted on USA Network this weekend.

Nile Rodgers has influenced and shaped the past three decades of music across genres, and has been named Billboard magazine's Top Producer in the World. Always on the cutting edge of new opportunities in the ever-changing music industry -- Rodgers' renowned productions spread from Madonna to Diana Ross, David Bowie to Eric Clapton -- he has recently executive produced, produced and contributed to Halo 2: Original Soundtrack, Vol. 1, the number one selling original video game soundtrack of all time.

As Executive Music Producer of the Boost Mobile MLG Pro Circuit show, Rodgers selects and secures music for the show. Thanks to his keen ear and extensive relationships in the music industry, tracks from artists like Breaking Benjamin will be featured in the show.

"Video gaming is growing into a new form of entertainment that is capturing the interest and imagination of more and more people," said Rodgers. "Music has enhanced movies and TV, now the right music can also enrich the gaming experience and create a deeper connection with the audience. I'm honored to be involved in this first of its kind TV show."

The TV show is a seven-part series displaying the challenges, drama and excitement of the world's fastest-growing sport, as the country's top pros battle it out for big money and the coveted title of MLG National Champion.

"Nile is known for breaking new ground in the music industry, and sees the connection between music and video gaming for our audience," said Sundance DiGiovanni, chief brand officer and co-founder of MLG. "Our goal's in sight and we have high hopes for the future -- everything about the show is clear proof of its mainstream appeal, and Nile's participation will only further that."

Aside from Nile Rodgers, the roster of celebrities linked to the TV show also includes Emmy Award-winning producer Rob Dustin, who is executive producing the show and has produced three Olympics and numerous sporting productions for CBS and other networks, and NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas, who will make appearances in the show.

The Boost Mobile MLG Pro Circuit TV show airs on USA Network on Saturdays from November 11 to December 23 at 10am ET/PT.
