New York, NY (BreakThru Radio) -- BreakThru Radio (BTR), the Internet's voice of the World's Best Independent Music, will air an exclusive acoustic performance with Atlanta's Snowden as part of DJ L's "It The Mix" an Atlanta based regional show, premiering Monday, November 13, 2006. The set will be part of BTR's extensive CMJ coverage, including a wide array of reviews, acoustic sets, and specialty shows geared to college radio's popular festival. Originally, front man Jordan Jeffares, and David Payne were going to go it alone for this special set. Then, drummer Chandler Rentz joined David's soft guitar work and with Jordan's crisp, clear, and airy vocals this performance had everyone leaning their chins on their hands in awe.

Recorded by BTR's Program Director Maia Macdonald and with the help of the New York blog Gothamist and East Village venue White Rabbit, Snowden's special acoustic set that can only be heard on DJ L's "In The Mix." Their debut album Anti-Anti, released in August through Jade Tree Records, is a mix of guitar fuzz and grand noise. But when stripped down, as heard in this exclusive acoustic set, lead singer Jordan Jeffares' vocals and songwriting capabilities are irrefutable.

"To say that Snowden merely played an 'acoustic set' would be verbal and emotional robbery. It was more like a sensual improvisational rebirth of an already magnificent band," explained DJ L. "Originally, front man Jordan Jeffares, and David Payne were going to go it alone for this special set. Then, drummer Chandler Rentz joined David's soft guitar work and with Jordan's crisp, clear, and airy vocals this performance had everyone leaning their chins on their hands in awe."

Unlike other radio stations, BTR offers listeners with on-demand programming. Snowden's exclusive acoustic set can be heard all week, and can easily be downloaded for listeners to enjoy at any time from the archives. DJ L's regional show also features tracks from other Atlanta staples, such as Ryan McDougall, Kill Gordon, and Gringo Star.

BTR was on hand at this year's CMJ festival, providing its listeners and readers with exclusive content from the festival. We premiered the first live recorded set in 25 years from the infamous punk band The Slits on "Welcome To Monsterland," which received over 600,000 listens in its first hour on air. DJ Rachael and Nora's "Blog Show" featured acoustic sets from six NYC artists during the festival, recording live from their apartment in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Next week DJ Drew will air exclusive clips and interviews from the ROIR (Reach Out International Records) showcase that featured the best in independent reggae.
