LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts) - Celia Cruz's "La Negra Tiene Tumbao," has become a smash radio hit in the US, and Puerto Rico. The track is currently included on top airplay lists in radio stations in Miami, New York, and Los Angeles, as well as on Billboard Magazine's Top Tropical Airplay chart. Now in heavy rotation in English language radio stations in Miami, such as Power 96 and Mega, "La Negra Tiene Tumbao" has broken language barriers. Sony Discos has released a remix version of the song produced by Miami's DJ Fluid, which due to its major success, will be made available in stores shortly. "We are very satisfied with all the achievements that Celia Cruz has attained with this album, released at the end of last year. The second single, "La Negra Tiene Tumbao" has been well spread throughout the media and continues to grow in public acclaim. It is a true honor for our company to have an artist as internationally important as Celia Cruz. We are proud to be part of her achievements, and her extraordinary artistic trayectory," said Jorge Melendez, Executive Vice-President of Sony Discos. As for Celia Cruz this is yet another reason for joy. "People request 'La Negra Tiene Tumbao' in all my shows. The Rap portion is a lot of fun and gets young people very enthused. I love performing this track and I'm happy for your acceptance of it, and the support that radio has given me," said Celia. The video for this track, a steamy one at that, continues to be a popular on national entertainment shows. Filmed in Mexico City, it was directed by Ernesto Fundora. "La Negra Tiene Tumbao," is the second promotional single off Celia Cruz's latest album of the same title.
