LOS ANGELES (By Tom Nelson/ Goldmark Industries) - Goldmark Industries, Inc. (Pink Sheets:GDKI), is excited to announce that Frost, Goldmark's VP of
Music Operations, will be appearing in “Vato”, the latest music video of renowned Hip Hop artist, Snoop Dogg. The already hit track, produced by Pharrell of the Neptunes, and featuring LA legend, B-real, is the first single from Snoop's album The Blue Carpet Treatment, scheduled for release November 21, 2006.
The music video depicts precisely what the lyrics are aiming to get across: unity between the Hispanic and Black communities. Rolling Stone Magazine quoted a statement from Snoop saying, “I love all of my brothers, black and brown. There is nothing that can stop us from creating a better future for ourselves, for our families and generations to come if we all came together.” The video, done in a PSA style, features Frost as a revered leader in the Hispanic community and clearly conveys the serious message. In the wake of the violence between the two sides over the past several months, in Los Angeles, this message is a much needed one.
In an article released on Raptism.com, the official site for Hip-Hop news, actor Edward James Olmos, who makes a cameo in the video, stated, "The influence of music on the human psyche is overwhelming… You apply that to the fact that people use it to express themselves - even more impact. Then you understand we have problems and you try to understand those problems through your art form - you're hitting a grand slam. Snoop Dogg is hitting a grand slam out of the park.” Olmos went on to say, "The biggest goal that can come from this is an understanding between cultures. It's a situation that's been going on for a long time; it's going to continue to go on unless we give an alternative to the youth. Right now we have children showing children how to be adults - the adults have to step up to the plate."
Goldmark Director, Danny Rodriguez, states, “We are extremely proud to have been a part of this single. It addresses a message that has been needed to be heard for a long time. Having the pioneer of Latin Hip-hop, our own VP of Music Operations, Frost, involved in such a major project, will be incredibly beneficial for Goldmark.”
