NEW YORK (Sunshine Anderson Official Website) - R&B songstress
Sunshine Anderson has received quite a warm welcome back from radio and video programmers for "Something I Wanna Give You," the first single off her upcoming
Music World
Music debut album
Sunshine At Midnight (due out 1/23/07). "Something I Wanna Give You" continues to be one of the most added records at Urban Mainstream radio each week and has cracked the Top 30 on Urban AC charts, prompting popular and influential nationally syndicated radio morning show personality Tom Joyner to invite Anderson to perform 4 songs live on his show 10/13. With stations from New York to San Francisco, and everywhere in between, on board, the song currently has an audience of close to 3 million listeners. The song is also in heavy rotation on AOL
Black Radio and is in rotation on Yahoo.com's Urban AC and Quiet
Storm stations.
The video for "Something I Wanna Give You" was immediately added by BET J and VH-1 Soul, and posted on a slew of internet sites. The video is also up now on Sunshine's official website www.sunshineandersonmusic.com, and on https://www.myspace.com/sunshineanderson.
In other news, you can hear Anderson's vocals in a new national Victoria's Secret television commercial for very sexy make-up featuring supermodel Giselle. The song, "Easy," is from a 2003 collaboration with Groove Armada.
Sunshine At Midnight is Anderson's first offering since taking the world of music by storm in 2001 with her Soul Life/Atlantic debut Your Woman, which exploded onto the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart at No 5, spawned the runaway smash No 1 hit "Heard It All Before," and went on to sell 750,000 units. With Your Woman, Anderson was embraced industry wide and enjoyed genre-busting mainstream successes that included appearances on The Rosie O'Donnell Show and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, as well as heavy video rotation on MTV and VH1, in addition to BET.
A native of Charlotte, NC, Sunshine Anderson grew up in an environment filled with love, support, and lots of music. She caught the attention of Soul Life CEO Mike City while attending college at North Carolina Central University, where she earned a B.S. degree in criminal justice. After a brief stint working in human resources for the government in Washington, DC, Anderson moved to Los Angeles to pursue her dream of becoming a professional musician.
Anderson has been touted for her rich vocals, no-nonsense lyrics and classic soul sensibilities, drawing comparisons to Mary J. Blige. Supporter and friend Macy Gray has heralded Anderson as "a star through and though," adding that the vocalist/ songwriter "has a fabulous way of being every girl and completely unique at the same time."
Anderson currently makes her home in Atlanta, GA. Sunshine At Midnight will be released by Mathew Knowles' Music World Music on January 23.
