Atlanta, GA (Hi-Fli Tones) - Ludacris, Usher, TLC, Outkast, Jermaine Dupri - all products of the famed Atlanta hip hop scene that has dominated the industry for the last decade. Hi-Fli Tones, together with the next generation of Atlanta's hip hop talent, are carrying on Atlanta's strong legacy, while making their presence felt in the $700M ringtone industry. Last week, Atlanta-based hip hop ringtone company Hi-Fli Tones launched its new website, as well as an aggressive grassroots and viral marketing campaign. The website features ringtones from a "who's-who" of Atlanta's underground urban movement, including DJ Unk, Yola the Great, Shawty-Lo and Slick Pulla. Arming themselves with viral marketing weapons like YouTube, MySpace, and guerilla street teams, the ringtone website is seeing record activity and sales. Hi-Fli Tones is using its street credibility and authenticity to take the ringtone industry into uncharted territory. Hi-Fli Tones co-founder Bernardo "Trey" Hicks, explains, "We saw an opportunity to fill a void that the mainstream market wasn't tapping. The giant ringtone companies don't have their ears to the street, and they aren't listening to the people, or the artists. We're just giving the market what they want, and having fun in the process." Co-founder Tim Maxman adds, "There are some incredible hip hop communities out there, like Allhiphop.com and SOHH. Hi-Fli Tones is a logical content and technology partner to these communities and we're building the necessary infrastructure to handle the growing demand."
