LOS ANGELES (13 Productions) - American-based power metal band Drachen's debut EP "Origin of the Species" was just released Sept. 5 and the reactions have been so strong the band is planning something special for its new found fans.
"We are forming a fan-based organization called the 'Order of the Drachen' that will give all of the true metal fans out there direct access to the band and many special benefits," said Drachen's founder bassist Chester Moore.
"We are all fans of heavy metal and we are putting together something special with the Order here. This is the kind of fan-based organization we would like to belong to ourselves. It just so happens it will be for our band."
Membership will be free and includes a bi-monthly e newsletter, discounts on merchandise and music exclusively available to members.
"We will write and record songs only available to members of the Order. Of course we know the songs will get out but for those true hardcore fans we will create music they can truly call their own," said Drachen vocalist Matthew Horner.
And to help spread the word about this unique fan organization, Drachen promise to travel to any destination that fans form the biggest "Order of the Drachen" chapter and perform for them and do a meet and greet.
"We are going to set these thing up in chapters and we are looking for fans willing to head them up all over the world. Whichever chapter grows the largest we will fly there and play. It might be that because of logistics we have to do an unplugged set but we will be there and we will meet with all fans that show up," said guitarist Reggie Salas.
Fans interested in setting up a chapter or who want more information, should e-mail e-mail protected from spam bots or send them a message at myspace at https://www.myspace.com/drachenmetal.
"we are ready to go out and play for the world and look forward to meeting the fans we've made and making many more," Moore said.
Drachen's single "Conviction" debuted number 29 on the soundclick metal charts and shot to number 1 the next day. The band have already had correspondence with fans from 32 countries and just finished their first video set to debut in October.
