NEW YORK (Top40 Charts) - After filing a wrongful death lawsuit earlier this month against the Los Angeles Police Department, the estate of late rapper Notorious B.I.G. - real name Christopher Wallace -- is now seeking the public's help in the case. Wallace's surviving family members, which include his widow Faith Evans and his mother Voletta Wallace, have set up two Web sites www.biggiehotline.com and www.biggyhotline.com where those with information about his unsolved 1997 murder can leave anonymous tips. Wallace was gunned down in a drive-by shooting outside the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles in 1997. The L.A.P.D. has failed to make any arrests in the case. Many people believe the rapper was killed in retaliation for the murder of Tupac Shakur in Las Vegas in 1996, a case also unsolved. In their lawsuit, Voletta Wallace and Evans, among others, accused the L.A.P.D. of not doing enough to prevent Wallace's murder, as well as hindering the investigation of the case to protect members of their own force who are allegedly involved.
