Brentwood, TN (Sparrow Records) - Major details are emerging about Switchfoot's next release, OH! GRAVITY., in stores December 26. The new full-length set follows the San
Diego rock band's breakthrough discs, THE BEAUTIFUL LETDOWN and NOTHING IS SOUND, which peaked on Billboard's Top 200 albums chart at No 16 and No 3 respectively.
Produced by Tim Palmer (U2, Tears For Fears) and Switchfoot with executive production from GRAMMY winning Producer of the Year Steve Lillywhite, OH! GRAVITY. sports a harder rock edge than the band's previous efforts.
Fans will get their first taste of the project beginning September 19 when the track 'Dirty Second Hands' is released online to digital service providers. The title track from OH! GRAVITY. will later serve as the set's official first single. Other cuts on the album, all written by frontman Jon Foreman and fellow Switchfoot members Tim Foreman (bass), Chad Butler (drums), Jerome Fontamillas (guitar, keyboard), and Andrew Shirley (guitar), include 'American Dream,' 'Awakening,' 'In This Life,' 'Amateur Lovers,' 'Circles,' 'Faust,' 'Yesterdays,' '4:12,' 'Burn Out Bright,' and 'Let Your Love.'
Switchfoot will pre-promote the day after Christmas release of OH! GRAVITY. with a warm-up tour of the United States from October 17 through November 22, playing clubs in major cities including Los Angeles, Chicago, Minneapolis, St. Louis, Nashville, Atlanta, Denver, Detroit, New York, Las Vegas, Cleveland, and many others.
