Sydney, AU. (EMI MUSIC Australia) - Kasey Chambers' new 'Carnival' album has debuted at No 1 on the national Motorola ARIA chart today, making it the third album release from the multi ARIA Award winner to spend time in the top spot.

Sales for 'Carnival' are fast heading towards double platinum while the first single 'Nothing At All' remains in the Top 30 after 5 weeks, having debuted inside the Top 10.

Chambers has already sold over a million albums in Australia – each of her three previous albums has sold at least 3 x platinum (210,000 albums) with second album 'Barricades and Brickwalls' selling a massive half a million copies. 'Barricades and Brickwalls' also saw Kasey achieve a simultaneous No 1 single ('Not Pretty Enough') and album; she then went on to release third album 'Wayward Angel' which remained at the top of the chart for 5 weeks.

'Carnival' was recorded in just over a week with producer and brother Nash Chambers on NSW's Central Coast. Joining them were some hand picked special guests including Midnight Oil's Jim Moginie, Bernard Fanning (Powderfinger), Tim Rogers (You Am I) and Michael Barker (John Butler Trio).
