LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts) - Lollapalooza's expected return to concert venues this summer has now been scratched, according to a spokesperson for the tour at the William Morris Agency. Instead, the granddaddy of traveling music festivals will now shoot to end its five-year hiatus in 2003. According to a statement from Perry Farrell, Lollapalooza's co-founder, organizers simply got too late of a start to secure the lineup they desired. "Having gotten a late start, we felt it would be smart to start building now for summer 2003," said Farrell in the statement. "It will afford us a chance to get the headliner we really want." Lollapalooza debuted in 1991 and has featured such acts as Jane's Addiction, Pearl Jam, Nine Inch Nails, the Beastie Boys, Korn, and Tool throughout the '90s. However, the tour has been dormant since its 1997 edition.
