LOS ANGELES (EMC3) - Ghost Army Cinema is the brain child of renegades of film Chris Brosnan and Saloum N'Jie.

Formed in the past year - "16 Thieves" - will be their first film together as writer/director and will be the first to go into production from a total of seven features they have on their slate. The feature screenplay "16 Thieves" has been optioned by New York film company Raw Films and currently, Ghost Army Cinema is looking for a pre-production and development deal for the project.

Saloum N'Jie, born in London, of Gambian and Guyanese origins, a graduate of a LAMDA course at Springboard Islington College, was the first ever black assistant director to work on a 007 Bond movie since the franchise began in the 1960s, when he worked on "Tomorrow Never Dies." The first feature film he worked on was "The Man That Knew Too Little," which was directed by Jon Amiel and starred Bill Murray. His other credits include directing a number of pop promos and short films, including "Day Before the Jam," which won best short film at the Portobello Film Festival in 2000. Others included "Cups of Coffee and Angel Cake" in 2003, which was selected as part of the Real 2 Real season on BBC2.

Saloum, an accomplished musician, has played for the most successful steelband in Europe : The Ebony Steel Band, for 20 years as a percussionist. In his spare time he has participated in Cineclub, which is an after school program teaching children the art of filmmaking from pre-production through to the finished film. He has also worked for Camp America's Summer Camps on the east and west coast teaching disabled children and adults music and drama as a form of therapy.

Chris Brosnan, who has made waves this summer on ITV1's Love Island, is the adopted son of actor Pierce Brosnan and the late actress Cassandra Harris. He attended UCLA Screen Writers School and then moved on to the New York Film Academy, where he studied directing. Starting out as a tea boy on films such as "Goldeneye" and "Robinson Crusoe," he has worked his way up over the last ten years to Assistant Director on films such as "The World is Not Enough" and "The Thomas Crown Affair." In 2000, Chris moved back to L.A. and started film production company 'Avatar Films,' which is currently shooting a picture in Costa Rica. Recently he has moved on to directing commercials such as Nokia, B & Q, Bonjella and music videos for artists such as Abi, Zen State, Jade, Freestylers and MC Navigator. In 2004 he sold his first screenplay called 'Indian Summer,' which is in pre-production.

He has also of late been working with The Prince's Trust, devoting his time and experience to inner city kids, helping them find motivation in their lives and faith in themselves through a series of media workshops and team building exercises.

Saloum and Chris look to make an impact and shake up the movie making and film industry landscape, with challenging, innovative and provocative work. They look to the world of Hollywood blockbusters, but the City of London is their true inspiration, a place they call home and a place they love, filled with energy and contrast - something they would like to bring to all via the big screen.
This is indeed the essence of 16 THIEVES and future Ghost Army Cinema productions. The door is open, the journey begins....
